Christie Scheele
Much of Christie Scheele’s work is taut, stretched; nearly as evanescent as a low-lying october fog. Her pictorial construction is achieved almost entirely through colour.
Her way of filling the canvas with broad areas of colour "turned" by dispersed accumulation of detail has much to do with the compositional procedure of colour field painting.
Nothing is insubordinate in her works and their dialogue between feeling and representation is unique.
